And for defect /burned logic board this is what you should do (if you want to repair it by yourself rather than taking it to high cost data recovery company )

1.First find the same good hard drive with the same brand,year,the same model name and the same firmware code.
2.try to replace defect logic board from defect hard drive with the same function logic board from the good one hard drive.
3.if not working,try to replace the logic nvrom IC in the good logic board with the old logic nvrom IC from the defect logic board.(use your solder )and after that,try to put the good logic board on the defect hard drive again ,see the result.

Logic nvrom is the small 8 pin IC (4 pin side by side ) with the NVROM name type.
